Lifelock and Gizzards

Last month or so I was scrolling through my online banking and noticed 2 unauthorized charges. Just before then I had heard commercials for LifeLock, and while I considered it, I sort of brushed it off. Now after seeing the two unauthorized charges – and according to the bank they had my CCV number as well. I took the steps necessary – and then signed up with Lifelock. Every once and awhile along comes a story that would humble most anyone. This time it is a story of a Team, Team Hoyt.

Strongest Dad in the World

Dick and Rick Hoyt are a father-and-son team from Massachusetts who together compete just about continuously in marathon races. And if they’re not in a marathon they are in a triathlon — that daunting, almost superhuman, combination of 26.2 miles of running, 112 miles of bicycling, and 2.4 miles of swimming. Together they have climbed mountains, and once trekked 3,735 miles across America.
It’s a remarkable record of exertion — all the more so when you consider that Rick can’t walk or talk.

Of Mice and Men

Don’t ask me why I picked that for a thread title – it just came to me. There were a few things I wanted to talk/write/muse about this post but first and foremost is my new ride.

You see, my 1995 Geo Prism (Toyota Corolla) Died with 191,257 miles on it. Overheated bad and kept on running until I slowed down. I bought the car January of 2000 for $3,800 with 90,514 miles on it and that equates to roughly $ 0.0377 per mile. Not bad really. It certainly owed me nothing – and still got 40mpg up to the end. I was talking with Krissi on what freaks someone out – because. Okay, back up – call it a snowballing type of thing to make Maddy happy – but I went as a clown this year on Halloween. Go figure – do you know that I cannot remember dressing up for Halloween since I was about 12 years old?
